Muang Sing is in the far North of Laos. We headed this way in search of indigenous people, one of Boryan’s passion and interests. What we didn’t know was that in January this area of Laos is very cold at night and hot during the day. Coming from warm Thailand we were miserable. The city itself was not welcoming but dusty and drab. Finding a cozy place to eat is how we dealt with the new challenges at hand. You can imagine our excitement when we stumbled upon a simple restaurant on the main road owned by a feisty grandma speaking good English. It turned out that her dishes were really delicious and we enjoyed her spring rolls and fried eggplant as much as her company. The yummy goodies lasted 5 sec on the plate once served.
