Yesterday we had five layers on, hugged small cups with hot tea and worshiped the electrical carpet in our Kyoto living room.
Today we are blasting air conditioning and walking around in swimming suits. Such a welcomed change! We are loving the warm weather and the bright colors of Thailand. The ocean is balmy, the food delicious and cheap and we are finally fitting into the daily budget we set ourselves at the start.
We landed in Phuket and decided to stay a few days in Khao Lak. The hotel is nice and the owner is super friendly so we extended to 5 nights. As much as I don’t like touristy places it is nice to be here for more than the two days we planned. We need to take baby steps towards getting to know our new ‘home country’: still assimilating the new money, the new language and the new food choices.
Tomorrow we have a birthday boy. B is turning 11.This is our first birthday on the road and the location couldn’t be better for his special day. B loves nature, water and playing outside. He is also obsessed with mango in any shape and form so we can cater to that obsession easily here in the mango headquarters of the world. It is going to be a great day!
Good night y’all. And thanks for all of you who dropped us a line. It felt great to hear from you! Love.
